Fortoiseau - 04
Nina was inspired by a mirrored door seen on a trip to India to produce this delicate design of monochrome birds set in ornamental frames which are presented in either subtle metallic colourings or soft tones of grey and aqua. Named after a château in the Seine-et-Marne which no longer exists.
Nina Campbell’s collection of wallpapers was inspired by the 17th and 18th century French vogue for textile designs originally produced in East India and traded via the Compagnie des Indes. These were given the generic name of Les Indiennes. Nina’s colour palette includes French grey, pink, aqua, blue, taupe and ochre and an unusual pairing of black with green. All the designs are printed on the easy-to-hang non-woven base.
